Quiet/Noisy Poems

in Mrs. Dietrich's Class

Kids sharpening their pencils before school starts.
Elephants blowing their trunks at the zoo.
A little boy screaming, after falling of his bike.
And me, watching commercials on T.V..

The rain falling on the ground while you are sleeping.
Whispering to myself as I go to sleep.
Leaves falling off the trees, falling slowly down.
Me, thinking and whispering quietly to myself.

Pencils moving on the paper.
Erasing their mistakes.
Rain tapping on the roof.
And me, writing on my paper.

Shoes sitting in the closet.
The class whispering.
A piece of paper sitting on my desk.
I listen to the silence.

My dad snoring.
My sisters screaming.
The thunder banging.
And me, singing loudly.

The Basilisk slithering in the chamber.

It's quiet in the dark.
I stay silent in the park.
