April
Tiny yellow green
buds at the end of branches
sending promises of spring.
Life is eternal.
~Mrs. Rastin

Easter
Pink and purple
dyed and chocolate eggs
hidden throughout the house.
Life is exciting!
~Mrs. Rastin

Snuggled in bed
covered with blankets.
Sleepy, dreaming, warm
Hearing birds chirp

Contented

Deep purple
The leaf of a new flower
Peeking through the cold soil
Life is extraordinary
By Ms. Laurence

Dark Chocolate
Sweet
Tempting
Hunger calls
I take a bite
Delicious tasting
Just one more little bite
I know I should not have more
Well maybe just a tiny bit
The bag is almost completely gone
I might as well eat the whole thing now - yum!
Ms. Laurence

Sweet Muffled Noise
Being held closely
Warm
Surrounded by comforting voices
Mama singing in church

Blessed!
By Ms. Laurence

Students
Short, tall
Paint the wall
Blond, brown
See the clown
Smart, bright
Starry night
Laugh, smile
Go the mile
Girl, boy
What a joy!
By Ms. Laurence

Mom's Favorite Roses by Ms. Filer

Bright
yellow
small roses
in my garden
remind me of mom,
filling my heart with peace
as I tenderly take care
of the beautiful, dainty buds
remembering her patience and grace,
her guidance, warmth, and love as I grew up.

Ms. Filer's Earliest Memory

In my backyard in my little red wagon
Getting soaked as my brother squirts me with the hose
Cheerful, crazy, joyful
The wagon was our pool

Silly!

Today's Weather

Hot, sunny,
Whistling bunny.

Snow, rainy,
1st grade's brainy.

Dry, humid,
Ingenious kid.

Sleet, slush,
Grapenut mush.

Clearing, drizzle,
Crazy Ms. Frizzle.

Retold by: Ms. Filer

Blue and green
Reminds me of the Earth
Like a big swirling ball of energy
In the expansive universe.

by Ms. Filer

Yellow
Reminds me of butter
Like the drips on my fingers
When I munch popcorn at the movie.

by Ms. Filer

Purring loudly!

Student Teaching by Ms. Miller

New
classroom,
new students,
lots of new names,
lots of new faces,
showing me how to teach.
I remember all your names!
All of you eager to learn more,
Showing me what great students look like.
Thank you for being wonderful students!

Winni Allfours' Earliest Memory by Ms. Miller

In the field
Racing around with new friends
Delight, amazement, curiosity
Finally a horse

Ecstatic!

Today's Menu

Bananas, toast,
Wigs on a post.

Peanut butter, jelly,
Santa's big belly.

Tofu, rice,
Little dancing mice.

Ice cream, cake,
Dragons can bake.

Milk, water,
A singing otter.

Retold by: Ms. Miller

Blue
Reminds me of vacation
Like the clear ocean
In the Dominican Republic.

by Ms. Miller

Pink
Reminds me of my sister
Like a ribbon
Braided in her hair.

Today's Weather

Sunny, hot,
Flies in a pot.

Rainy, snow,
Twinkle toes.

Humid, dry,
Babies cry.

Slush, sleet,
Smelly feet.

Drizzle, clearing,
Losing my hearing.

Winter Spring
By Mrs. Rizzuto

Spring
April
Daffodils
begin to bloom.
Warm sunshine struggles
through the still chilly air.
Colorado's winter air
still lingers past the end of season.
Heavy snow, blankets our neighborhood.
Providing an unpredicted Snow Day!

Our School

Manatees
Always learning
We work hard.
Reading, Writing, Math, Science,
And so many more too!
Teachers help us do our best,
You know we rocked our FCAT tests!
Listening, helping, working with friends and playing too ...
The year is coming to an end, oh, my!
Can't believe how much we learned ... the year's flown by!

Mrs. McCoy
