I Am From . . . Poems

I am from the Bible,
From computers,
From crocs,
Wearing them on weekdays.
I am from a colossal apartment,
That looks like a real valley.
I used to have many turtles,
And "Valencia is not a quitter."
I am organized and a person.

I am from a family that goes to church,
Learn stories from the Bible,
From charming family members,
From a loving and caring family,
From a sister and a brother,
And from how to be a good person.
I am from business people,
And people adoring karaoke.

I am from fish,
From rice,
And tea,
During evening dinner with family.
I am from a strict country,
From Singapore,
And a tough education ,
Where students must learn a lot.

By: Valencia

I am from computers,
From laptops,
From video games,
Only played on weekends.
I am from an enormous, cozy house,
And never say; "Don't know."
I am extremely lazy,
And love playing soccer.

I am from staying with family on weekends,
From close knitted members,
From having one sister,
Being grateful for having me,
And a brother who teaches me soccer.
I am from Roman Catholics,
Which is always beside Jesus.
I am from traders in jewelry,
From exotic chefs.

I am from cookies and cream,
From pizza,
From spaghetti,
Which is tastier than anything else.
I am from Jakarta,
From pollution and trash in the road,
And nice shopping malls,
Which have a lot of variety.

By: James

I am from Nokia phones,
From J.Co. Donouts,
From StarBucks,
Drank only on Sundays.
I am from a huge soccer field,
And live in an enormous house.
Told that family comes first.
I am naughty and annoying.

I am from a fire cracking family,
From humble people,
From a mom called, Anju,
She is a really kind lady.
And from Hindus,
Believing in one god.
I am from Indian merchants,
From traders and exporters.

I am from brownies and ice-cream,
From Haagindaaz,
And cheetos,
Very yummy and cheesy,
When melting in my mouth.
I am from Indonesia, Jakarta,
From a beautiful city with some dirty parts,
And a lot of fun in the malls.

By: Chirag

I am from the computer,
From the Bible,
And from the i-pod,
Listening only on weekends.
I am from a medium sized swimming pool,
With three water fountains.
And, "Del, do a good job, get a hundred percent."
I am careless, and a sore looser,
With messy hair.

I am from going to a friend's house,
From helping and appreciation,
From a loving mother and father,
Where I learn of being a helper,
And forgiving people,
As wonderful virtues.
I am from business men and women.
And from following rules.

I am from French fries and chips,
From "Guitar Hero,"
And ice-cream,
Which is velvety.
I am from Jakarta in Indonesia,
From Sarong,
From Kebaya,
And from Batik.

By: Fidelia

I am from the play-station,
From UMD Emulator,
From 8 Gigabytes Adaptor,
Used on machines and batteries.
I am from a basketball court,
Within an enormous paradise.
And "David never cried,"
I am love, respect and kind.

I am from Christmas,
From Indians,
From Dadlani's,
And mindful people.
And from Christianity,
Where Jesus answers.
I am from the trade market,
And from businessmen.

I am from chocolate,
From candies,
And peanut butter,
Eat them with marshmallows and lollypops.
I am from Indonesia,
From Java,
From Jakarta,
Which is captivating and overwhelming.

By: David

I am from the television,
From computers,
From books,
Which I like to read.
I am from eight, white dogs,
And "You are too skinny."
I am organized,
Prepared and ready to do anything.

I am from red clothing users,
From fun adventures,
From parents and a brother,
Who are special to me.
And from Catholics,
Who make a cross before and after praying.
I am from the malls,
From working and shopping.

I am from noodles,
From hot dogs,
From chocolate chip cookies,
Which I like from "Famous Amos."
I am from Indonesia,
From Jakarta,
Where most of my family lives,
And where I have the best school.

By: Mazel

I am from StarBucks coffee,
From computers,
From expensive Converse shoes,
Having only one pair.
I am from a tall apartment,
And never giving up,
Taking care of each other.
I am organized, but need more effort.

I am from making Kim Chi every month,
From love and care,
From one brother much younger,
Where I learned that a sibling is special.
And from believing in Jesus,
Trusting even if I feel down.
I am from the teachers,
And from merchants.

I am from Kim Chi,
From chocolate-triple ice cream,
And Ghana chocolate,
Only enjoyed when uncle is happy.
I am from Korea, Seoul,
From power and forgiveness,
And beautiful smiles,
Bright like sunshine.

By: So-Ri

I am from crocs,
From zidzos,
From Starbucks,
Drank only on occasion.
I am from a neat white house,
From an apartment with small rooms,
And "Valerie, donšt be naughty."
I am a food lover.

I am from going to church,
Learning God's word,
From love and compassion.
From a triplet,
What I think is magical.
I am from Christians,
And following Jesus,
I am from traders and workers.

I am from blueberry muffins,
From ravioli,
From apple pie,
For dessert eaten from time to time.
I am from Singapore,
From clean roads,
And challenging schools,
I am from expensive jewelry in crowded malls.

By: Valerie

I am from the Bible,
From sport,
From video games,
Played only on weekends.
I am from a balcony,
Overlooking the sea and mountains.
And "Canaries, love soccer."
I am energetic,
Friendly and caring.

I am from going to Spain during the summer,
From courage and kindness,
From a much older sister,
Where I learned the joyful times.
And from trusting in Jesus,
Believing that anything is possible with him.
I am from businessmen and teachers,
From working and worshipping.

I am from Japanese food,
From chocolate ice-cream,
And chocolate bars,
Whenever my mom allows me.
I am from Las Palmas,
From bullfights,
From wine-making,
And beaches, where people relax and play.

By: Sameer

I am from the PS3,
From Dagon Ball Z,
From 9 Gigabite memory stick.
I am from a neat bedroom,
Where laughter and joy break the silence.
I am from a decorative house,
And respecting elders.
I am funny and sensitive.

I am from visiting restaurants,
From being helpful and joyful,
From parents who love me.
I am from a grateful heart,
And from Christianity,
Thanking God for everything.
I am from tennis players,
And golf fanatics.

I am from ice-cream,
From the cone,
From ice,
Enjoying some after a sport game.
I am from Mexico,
From Korea,
From colorful people,
With smiles on the faces.

Like ignoring others.

Anger is causing division among people.

Peace is tranquility.
By: Valencia

Fear
doesn't have to be creepy

They brush their treasure to be shiny.
And they are as lazy as cats.

Diamonds

A Land of Splendor
I wonder why Africa is so captivating?
I suppose it is due to its marvelous treasures.
The lionšs roar that echoes as a new day breaks open.
The fish eagle soaring over mighty rivers that flow to far away oceans.
Majestic mountains silhouetted against the blue sky.
Elephants and giraffes under the shade of thorn trees.
Buffalo and wildebeest herds roaming the grasslands.
All of this and so much more . . . .
