Rhetorical Question Poems Written with 1st and 4th grade buddies together

By Roy and John
I wonder if Legos like to be played with.
I suppose they do.
Lots of kids love to get them.
They like to get built by kids.
They like to turn into space ships.
You can never get rid of them.
By Trevor and Gabe
I wonder if Bob likes to be taken hostage by Mr. Hiley.
I suppose he doesn't because he is being smashed into a black hole
(Also known as Mr. Hiley's pocket.
He gets thrown at the wall.
He gets stuck in Mr. Hiley's syrup.
After I get him back I have to re-staple him together.
By Nasir and Devin
I wonder if dogs can talk.
I suppose they can't.
They can bark really loud because they are mad.
They whine when they want food.
They're mad if their food get stolen and growl.
They might bark at a car and chase it.
By Kate, Sage, and Elis
I wonder if the Earth is scared of the dark universe.
I suppose it rotates to look at the sun because it's scared of the dark.
We should give it a teddy bear for Earth Day (its birthday).
I bet it feels better with its night lights (the stars).
I'm guessing Earth's fireplace (sun) reminds it of home.
Maybe Earth's continents are its blanket so it falls asleep without bad dreams.
Probably Earth's oceans are its glass of water at night when its thirsty.
By Ben and Matthew R.
I wonder how the Bald Eagle feels about being the national bird.
I suppose they use the name as an honor.
The Bald Eagle spreads its graceful wings to soar into the air.
The Bald Eagle, a mighty hunter, stalks out fish in the water below.
The wonderful Bald Eagle waltzes around looking for mice.
The Bald Eagle puffs out his chest and spreads his wings
to show he is proud of being the national bird.
By Keenan and Parker
I wonder how Odysseus feels when he is not with his wife.
I suppose he feels sad not being with his wife, being begged by suitors to marry them.
He feels sad that she mourns for his return.
He feels weak not being able to be in the presence of his beautiful wife.
He feels some-what happy because he won the war against Troy.
He feels small because he was on his twenty-year journey
and him to mourn for his wife to find him on the island of Ithaca.
By Lindsey and Tabbie
I wonder if the Earth likes spinning and spinning.
I suppose it must because it doesn't get sick.
It likes keeping people safe from the dangerous universe.
And giving them a habitat.
It likes giving people fresh, clean air to breathe
And watching the universe slowly drift past.
By Kobe and Zack
I wonder if Pok'emon are weak in the real world.
I suppose that they are two-times as strong as sumo wrestlers.
The Legeharies would probably destroy cities.

By Rhamsi and Amanda
I wonder if a tree likes being a tree.

that shade picnics on a hot summer day with its leaves.
I suppose they think they are beautiful in the springy wind.
They are famous for their height as they tower over buildings.
They are birds', squirrels', and other animals' best friends
because they let them sit on their branches.
Their leaves are graceful in the fall wind as they fall to the ground.
They are beautiful for their many colors in the mid-fall.
By Matthew and Erik
I wonder if books enjoy being read.
I suppose they like their pages flipped.

By Gabrielle, Megan and Ellana
I wonder why there are stars in the sky.
I suppose they stars are angels floating in the sky watching us.
You can wish on a star for a dream to come true.
Glistening and shining so bright for us at night so we are safe or without fright.
The angels crowd around God who is the moon to hear his good news.
By Lincoln and Matthew
I wonder if dogs love to be pets.
