Because Poems

Cats
I like them
Ask me why.
Because they snuggle with you when you’re sick,
Because they make you feel better,
Because sometimes they eat all the food,
Because they are big, fat and furry,
Because they bother and meow a lot,
Because, because, because.
That’s why
I like cats.
Sophia

Ask me why
Because it is delicious,
Because it has a flavor like candy,
Because it makes me happy,
Because I love it and my sister too,
Because it reminds me of my sister,
Because, because, because
That’s why
I like cake.
Patricia

Music
I like it
Ask me why
Because I like to sing and dance all the time
Because songs transport me to places I have never been
Because some songs say the things that I feel
Because the songs remind me of moments,
places and people I’ve been around
Because when I put a CD I can’t stop singing
Because I don’t know why, but I know that I like music in the shower Because, because, because
That’s why
I like music.

Because there are rolling hills
and beautiful mountains that are spectacular
Because there is icy cold snow in the winter that is fun to play in
Because there are big oceans to fish in

Because there is cool, fresh air to breathe in
Because my fun cousin is there to play with me
Because my great grandparents are there to talk to me
Because, because, because
That is why I like Norway.
Kari

Neopets
I like then
Ask me why.
Because they are cool and cute
Because they are things I never would have thought of
Because they have their own moods and feelings
It’s like they’re really real
Because they care for you
Because they can fight really good
That’s why
I like neopets.
Ian

Ask me why
Because she has blue eyes like mine

Because she is my super duper best friend
Because, because, because
That’s why I like my cousin Maria Alejandra.
Emily

Friends
I like mine
Ask me why
Because they make me feel like flying
Because they help and care about me
Because having friends is a very good thing
Because I can tell them my secrets
Because they are there when I need them
Because they are wonderful
Because, because, because
That’s why
I like my friends.
Evelin

Computers
I like computers
Ask me why

That’s why
I like chocolate.

What To Do If You Are . . . Poem

What to do if you are electricity
Have a renewal power source.
Not pollute.
Be available to the whole world, free of charge.
Hide in and charge all kinds of batteries.
Electrocute thieves who enter my house.
Zap those who bother and trouble me.
Be friendly and fun with children.
Prevent light bulbs from ever burning out.
Light up all galaxies in the colors of the rainbow.

What To Do If You Are . . . Poems

What to do if you're the wind
Travel through a lot of countries
Blow cool breeze over whose who have been tired by the sun
Make the ocean waves go faster so kids and adults can jump over them
Blow away all the bad guys
Make the fall fall on all the flowers so that they can grow when it's sunny
Make mountains of snow so kids can play in the snow at Christmas
Blow up the cockroach
Fly through the air and see all the bright stars.
Emily

What to do if you're a wolf
Eat every animal in my way
Kill every enemy in my path
Free every captive canine
Rule over all the mountains
Help my wolf family
Go to different places
Look for food
Look for a new home
Kill hunters
Growl when the moon is full
Gaze at the moonlight
Be the king of wolves.
Tomas

What to do if you're a coin
Roll all over the world
Multiply myself at will
Move through all the banks of the world
Pass through all hands of the world
Be always shiny
Remain the coolest disc in the world.
Jose A

What to do if you're music
Get all people to dance
Be on all the time
Set the volume at max so that people wouldn't hear anymore
Pick the best hits always
Hypnotize people so they never stop dancing
Make cars and houses jump
Sing in all languages.
Andreas

What to do if you're a fluffy cat
Sleep
Eat a lot
Scratch the face of those who carry me
Explore every house I see
Stay away from eating lizards
Cuddle up to my owner
Always hide if I get into trouble or frightened
Run away when I'm called to be taken to the vet or take a bath
Play alone with a piece of string.
Sophia

What to do if you're a cat
Climb trees
Jump from the highest tower and land on my paws
Sleep in branches
Eat shrimp
Cuddle up in a circle
Scratch thieves
Visit children who don't have friends
Hide in the meadow
Run away from dogs.
Patricia

What to do if you are a dragon
Travel the world over
Visit every single country
Dominate the skies
Be the fastest dragon
Be scary
Rule the seas
Be king of the kingdoms
Be the best dragon
Fly over people
Race the fastest dragons
Make people happy
Get to be the best king
Cover the sun when people are hot.
Daniel

What to do if you are a pencil
Walk upside down while you erase
Have a very pointy foot when you have just been sharpened
Feel what is not to have a head when your eraser is worn out
Sleep inside a pencil case
Have only one foot
Have a wonderful friend: the sharpener
Know what it's like to be a dwarf when your wonderful friend breaks your sharpened tip
Jump off the table when nobody is looking and also write on it.
Ana C

What to do if you are Pegasus
Fly around the world
Play tag with eagles
Hide in the clouds
Trot through cities
Gallop over fields
Race with cars through the streets
Follow the rainbow to find a pot of gold
Name the starts
Be magical.
Kari

What to do if you are a butterfly
Fly in the huge sky
Travel in the beautiful world
Stop over on all the flowers
See all the other butterflies
Fly and see all pretty things
Watch the earth from above
Fly mo matter what happens
Migrate with the others
Camouflage myself among trees
Give the rainbow my colors.
Evelin

What to do if you are a dragon
Fly through the air
Destroy and eat every knight that dares to enter my cave
Frighten or eat my enemies
Rule the lands beyond my cave
Go on a diet and eat plants
Make friends with werewolves
Glide over water
Build a campfire every night
Discover unpopulated islands
Do tricks in the air
Visit other worlds
Cook food without a stove.
Ernesto
