Observations:
Apple slices shriveled and turned brown. They also felt spongy. The whole apple looked the same all week. The apple cut into 1/8's lostĘthe most water.

Analysis:
The apple that was cut into 1/8's lost the most water because there was more surface area exposed to the air for evaporation to take place.

Conclusion:
The peel of an apple keeps the fruit fresh and prevents the apple from drying out.

Application:
Keep cut up fruit fresh by keeping it under wraps.
