Around the Block Web Ring

• Who are we?

  We are crazy quilters who blog. Because we like to check on our friends, we've formed a webring. I chose the name Around the Block because it gives the sense of neighborhood, as well as the sense of crazy quilting. We are friendly, neighborly, family-oriented and, above all, talented quilters. If you prefer knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, or other crafts, this ring isn't for you. It isn't that we don't like you. We do! We may even do those things ourselves. However, *this* ring is for blogs that are 80% about crazy quilting. We may mention our families. We may mention some other craft, in passing. However, 8 out of 10 posts are about crazy quilting, for crazy quilters. We may post a picture of a pretty flower, our backyard, the neighborhood, but mostly we post our crazy quilting projects. You don't have to be invited, but you do have to be approved. Your blog must be in existence for one month before you ask to join. There are a *few* rules you need to follow, to wit:

• Our blogs do not contain cursing or foul language of any kind.
• Our blogs are 80% crazy quilt-oriented - yes, literally. 4 of 5 posts must be about quilting in some way.
• Ring members must post at least once a week. More is great. Less is cause for deletion from the ring. It doesn't have to be pages and pages, but it has to be a paragraph or picture about your crazy quilting, unless it's that 5th post and it's about your family, or other concerns.
• Yes, you can have a post about crazy quilting, and mention that your dog died, your dad had surgery, or your daughter won a scholarship to Harvard. We aren't one-dimensional. We know you are part of a whole, and crazy quilting is not all of you.
• If you run a business, for instance longarm quilting, that is no problem. You can't blog about your life as a quilter and not mention this major facet of your life, and show pictures of your work.
• The navigation code must be installed as given. No changes are allowed.
• Please do not discuss controversial issues, such as politics, abortion, or other issues on your blog. We want your crazy quilting blog. If you want to discuss those issues, have a different blog that is not part of the ring. If you have links on the sidebar to blogs which discuss those issues, that is fine, as long as you aren't discussing them on *your* blog, and as long as they are just sitting on your sidebar, available to those interested.
